Current Foundation Picks
Everyone wants to know..what is the best foundation? The problem with that question is there are too many variables to have one answer. The question you should be asking yourself is, what is the best foundation for me? I have been asked what I use, so I rounded up my favorites and will share in detail, the what and the why.
First off.. my skin type. My skin changes with the seasons so I have a few go-tos depending on the weather. Here in New Hampshire, the weather can be 35 deg one day, and 75 the next. I typically have oily skin. It doesn’t take long for me to shine bright like a diamond if you catch my drift? In the winter my skin can be very dry but oily at the same time. Fun, right? I need to balance my dryness and control oil at the same time. These products do these things for me, and I’m only rotating depending on the coverage I want for that day. So lets get started! (I’ll be listing in order of light to heavy coverage)
First option is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. It is a very light weight, minimal coverage tinted moisturizer. Good for everyday, just to give you a little something with spf 30. Rubs/wears off easily.
Second option is the Bare Minerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation. It is has a little more coverage then the first. Also good as an everyday as it has spf 20. Stays put a little better.
Stepping up in coverage is the Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For Mineral-matte CC cream. This has great coverage and stays put. It is also anti-aging, complexion correcting, and moisturizing. Great for covering imperfections. Also spf 30.
Lastly is the Tarte Face Tape. This gets rave reviews because it is amazing. This stuff covers everything and stays put ALL day. It is heavy and you can feel that you have something on after a while so keep that in mind, but if you have any kind of event to go to this is your stuff!
These are the current 4 I’m using. It all depends on the weather, what I’m doing that day, etc. The next question is how do you apply? I use a couple different methods but it ultimately comes down to your preference. Some people feel that using their fingers and the warmth helps distribute the product. Because I can have a tendency to break out, I do not. I try to touch my face as little as possible. I use a Beauty Blender or the Bare Minerals Smoothing Face Brush that goes with the Bare Minerals hydrating gel. I’ve also included the Well-Cared For Brush Conditioning Shampoo which I also use on the beauty blender.
So there you have it! What I use, right now. If you have any questions about these products, how I use them, or even about your shade match, leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you and help a girl out!
