Summer to Fall Transition Outfit

Fall is approaching but not here quite yet. As I write this it is currently 80 deg. I’m not sure if we all want fall because it’s the best time of the year, or because everyone’s in a hurry for 2020 to be over?! I am feeling a little bit of both. I love the fall but am a summer girl at heart, so I hate to see it go. I put together an outfit that is good for today’s 80deg, but will transition to cooler weather with just a couple tweaks..let’s get started!

Okay, summer is coming to an end, we all stocked up on Nordstrom sale goodies, but fortunately/unfortunately, it’s still warm. We’re not ready to pull out our booties and cardigans, but the mornings are too chilly for a tank top only. What do you do?

You start with your basic summer outfit. I LOVE these sets from Romwe and Shein. Two piece sets that are adorable and not even affordable..they are downright cheap! Like $10 for a 2pc set cheap?! I linked all my favs that I could fit into one LTK post.

I would wear the above outfit for a summer day. Start with a set, pair it with cute sandals or flip flops and some sunnies. Done. Well, you wake up tomorrow and it’s 65deg. What do you do? Not heading for my chunky sweater quite yet, not cold enough.

Keep the original set, change out the sandals for mules, add a denim jacket or cardigan, and boom, fall look. You could even change out the tank for a regular shirt. I wouldn’t go as far as booties yet, but the mules or a pair of cute sneakers are perfect. I added my favorite fall hat which also gives it a different vibe.

I am using one outfit as an example here, but this can be done with anything. Keep the denim cutoffs and add a fall long-sleeve top in place of a tank. Change flip flops for booties. Add a duster or a jacket.

What I’m saying is you don’t have to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe because the temperature dropped 10deg. Make it work for the in-between. I know, it’s the hardest time to dress for. It’s like when the kids go back to school in the fall.. #1 rule is dress in layers. It’s a good rule to follow!

As always, if you have any questions or comments , leave them in the box below. Happy summer/fall.
