Setting Goals for 2020

2020 is here whether we like it or not people! A new year can be a new start and it gets me thinking about the year ahead. I’m not one to make “resolutions”. I feel like the word itself co-insides with the word “diet”. A diet is temporary, I don’t want temporary. I need a lifestyle. I try to add onto things I’m already doing to make my life easier, more enjoyable. Let’s get started!

1. Drink More Water:

This one is a given. Everyone can do better with their water intake. When you think you’ve had enough, drink more. We should be drinking at least 1/2 or weight in water. Yikes. Why is it so easy to drink 3 margaritas but a glass of water is difficult? Asking for a friend… I have found it helps to add flavors such as fruit. Let’s do this one together!

2. Be More Present:

We’re all so busy and time seems to be flying by! I feel I have done a good job of this as of late so I need to keep going. Not just as a whole but spending more individual time with my kiddos. As they grow up, they change and are turning into their own person. I love seeing that when we are one-on-one. Family game nights with your kids or friends, is a great way to unplug and connect with loved ones.

3. Stay Organized:

I’m really good at organization BUT…with 3 kids, 3 dogs, and a husband, it’s hard to stay organized. My goal is to make my house a better “system” so we can ALL stay organized. I will document on Instagram, and maybe a little on Facebook, as I go for any of you who want to follow along if you need some guidance!

4. Make Life with Bren into a full time job:

I have been loving my little slice of the web and it’s been a great side gig for the past 6 months, but It has such potential that I’m excited to take it as far as I can. I have turned away brands and not fully dedicated as much time as I could be, so 2020 is my year. As of January 1st, I am the new Bloggers Live Boston NH Ambassador! I’ll be helping to empower women to do what they love and pursue their blogging careers! I’m excited to take you along with me. You have been instrumental in turning LB into a business and I am eternally grateful for each and every one of you! I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

5. Practice Self-Care:

This is anything from working out, getting a facial, spending time alone, to reading a book. At least 2x a week I am giving myself whatever I need to recharge. If I write it down in my planner, I’ll make it happen. I need to plan everything I really want out or somehow it gets pushed off. Me time makes me a better wife, mom, person. We all need it. *Girl Stop Apologizing is Life With Bren’s 1st book club book! Follow along for the month of January!

6. Meal Prep: This could fall under the guideline of organization. Our life is crazy and I have time to prep but the time to cook is usually when we’re getting kids at school or someone has a game. I’ve ordered our first Home Chef order for January, meals for 4, 3x a week. For those of you who don’t know what Home Chef is, it’s a meal subscription. You only get the exact ingredients you need for the meal you are making (think no more jars of food items you bought only to use 1 tablespoon of). My youngest is picky and will probably have parts of it but not all. I will keep you posted what we think!

I chose to only have 5 “goals” because they are umbrella goals with smaller ones under them. You need to ask yourself what you want, start big, and then go from there, breaking it down until all the smaller attainable goals help get you to the main outcome. If you want to follow along in my journey, I’ve linked some items to help you! As always, if you have any questions or comments, leave them in the box below! Happy New Years Babes! Cheers to 2020!
